The History

In 2006, while preaching a Sunday night evangelistic service at New Mt. Moriah Church in Detroit, Michigan under the leadership of Apostle Ezetrick Wilson the Lord spoke to Elder Desmond Cheatham concerning the birthing of a ministry. After some time in prayer and fasting, he spoke with his Spiritual Father, Bishop Lance T. Travis concerning what God had spoken to him. With the backing and support of his spiritual father, Elder Cheatham began to strategically map out the vision for the ministry.

While still in preparation the lord instructed Elder Cheatham to begin having a Monday night Bible Studies, after meeting with a team of those who will help launch the bible study session, and it was named The Bible Clinic, its first service was held October 2011.

The Bible Clinic would be a catalyst to help the community with back to school rallies, Thanksgiving baskets giveaways and adopt-a-family for Christmas.

In September 2012, Elder Desmond Cheatham was lead to King of Kings Int’l, under the leadership of Apostle Willie M. Thornton. It was there that he began to be nurtured for the assignment of Pastoring. Under the leadership of Apostle Thornton and Bishop Travis, there was a three day installation celebration in which Elder Cheatham was officially installed as Pastor of the ministry given to him from the Lord called New Destiny Church on August 18, 2013.

New Destiny Church held its first official service on Sunday, September 1, 2013 with only a small group of people at 28981 Annapolis rd. in Westland, Michigan and their bible studies, which is still called The Bible Clinic every Wednesday at 7pm.

Pastor Desmond Cheatham and New Destiny Church is committed to discipling the Lost, equipping the body and perfecting the saints so that we all may reach their expected end. Jer.29:11
